May 2008: Shadow
This is perhaps one for the purists. Shornbare has a liking for Erich Mendelson, modernist architect,
behind, amongst other buildings, the Bexhill pavilion. This shadow of a ventian blind came out just
like one of his sketches, with a strong and mysterious suggestion of Art Deco balconies. It also made
Shornbare think of the relationship between shadows and architects (see Image of the Month, August 2003).
