No Country for Old Men

This one burns in the mind long after the ending. The characters are beautifully drawn out during the film, all the way to the disturbing conclusion. I liked Peter Bradshaw's review in the Guardian likening the film to "the elemental thrill of watching a cloud-shadow spread with miraculous speed over a vast, empty landscape: it has a chilly, portentous intuition of what America is."
