Running Amok
No sunrise as such. More a misty transluscence, a not quite blue not quite black. Looking back, an endless football-field wide spume of fizzy wake. The Tannoy announces: "Spike's Sports bar situated in the forward section of the craft". The alliteration is nice.
I read a question: 'is it better to commit evil and attempt to balance it with an exalted act than to live a resolutely neutral life?'
A few days later I imagine running amok in the Millennium Dome, killing hundreds. The only evil act in an otherwise unblemished life.
How would the media explain me? 'Madman Runs Amok in Millennium Dome' I'd be mad because of the act, not because of my life. Can a single act define madness?
